Perseverance Through Hard Times

In January, we had the joy of honoring the most recent TEAM graduate, Kevin. When Kevin called Love INC in late 2021 he and his family were having a hard time making ends meet. “Life was a really big struggle; we were kind of…doing whatever we wanted with our money and wondering why we didn’t have any left. We were going out to Starbucks, fast food, whatever and so we weren’t really taking care of our finances, our bills were racking up. How we even got as far as we did the way we were living was shocking, but we knew something had to change.”

He joined the TEAM program last January and says “I wasn’t really sure what to expect when I first got here and went to class. All I knew is that I was drowning, and I needed to get help to get out of it.” After he started the program he was able to see that “because of the way they had it all setup, and the strictness of it, it forced me to do what I wanted to do, which was get out of debt.”

Over the course of the last year, Kevin and his family have encountered many challenges, some related to their finances, but also several other difficult life circumstances. Through all of it God helped Kevin learn “That I can persevere, that I was able to get through this. Because we had a lot of life issues that happened during this time, that didn’t even have to do with finances, that were a real struggle…It would have been very easy to quit, it would have been very easy to say I just can’t do this anymore. But when I got to that point, I felt like I’m making it, I’m doing it, I’m persevering…I stuck with the whole year and got through it.”
