A Season

In October 2025, God brought a family to Emerge who had an unusual situation. They had just moved to Washington to be closer to specialist doctors in Seattle for their middle son who has a rare medical condition. The mom and dad were not married or living together anymore, but dad still moved with the rest of the family so he could continue to support them. While in Yakima, they had two other major issues: their car wasn’t working and the family’s apartment had a mold problem.

Mom had been severely traumatized as a child and was fearful of leaving home. When dad heard about the classes at Love INC, he was able to persuade mom to go if he went with her, and their lives started to change. Mom started getting comfortable being around people who actually cared about her. They learned better financial practices and how to have a relationship with Jesus. Dad worked with a mentor where he was encouraged to get further education and skills to get a second job; he was successful with both tasks.

Then Love INC received a generous donation of a car in January, which was given to the family. As dad worked more, they came to Emerge classes less since he needed to work during Emerge program hours. They eventually stopped coming, but kept in touch.

We recently learned that they moved out of state, but they were so thankful and grateful for the
support they received during the short, difficult season they were in Yakima.
